Stick Typeface

This project required of us to design a typeface that explores letterform. We were to consider the essential structure of the characters in the alphabet and how they can be designed using unconventional marks. My design solution creates an alphabet using organic material, namely twigs. The characters were made to be legible, and able to use to create many different type specimens. The leaves on some of the twigs create pops of colour which are visually appealing. The majority of the letterforms are completely organic, but some letters needed to be tweaked and had extra twigs glued on to them in order to keep the type legible.
